Ruth Sancho Huerga (Castellon de la Plana, Spain) is a multi-disciplinary artist who works with a diverse palette of tools: theatre, performance, interactive art, games and digital literature. She holds Master by Research in Media & Communication at R.M.I.T University and is recipient of the Australian Endeavour Awards 2012. She also studied English Philology at the University of Barcelona, Theatre Studies in Laboratorio de Teatro William Layton (Madrid) and Drama in Col.legi del Teatre (Barcelona). She is an actress, poet, playwright, theatre director and teacher. She has worked in different countries around the world such as Spain, England, U.S.A, Colombia and Australia.
Some of her relevant works are: “Blood Wedding” (Malthouse Theatre Company) directed by Marion Potts (nominated as a best actress for the Green Theatre Awards 2013). “Trip-T(l)ics, Digital Interactive Poetry Installation” (Award “Cultural Cooperation Program 2011″) and “Azahares, Tribute to Miguel Hernandez” (Award “Cultural Cooperation Program 2010″ both supported by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Spanish Consulate in Melbourne and National University of Australia) “The Book of Good Love” (Theatre Award “Jose Maria Rodero”, Madrid), “In Praise of Folly” (Adaptation of “Don Quixote”, New York City), “Entre via y vi-a” (Award ‘Jovenes Creadores’, Valencia) “Vive la Fiesta” (Art Centre, Melbourne) and “The Shadows of the Words.”, Visual Poetry Collection, among others.
